The Diploma in Business was designed to meet the needs of the local labour market for the specialisation. Training in this specialisation is conducted over five semesters (regular training model) – four training semesters followed by one internship semester – with each training semester comprising 14 training weeks. The programme provides training in specialised skills in the field of business and is designed for learners who wish to start a career in business. Learners can take units across different business areas such as marketing, logistics and entrepreneurship. The can also develop skills that can be applied to a wide range of careers, including communication, teamwork and managing personal finances. In addition to the sector-specific content available in these qualifications, learners also develop the transferable skills needed to progress to further education or employment. During training, the focus is on experiential learning and linking it to theoretical aspects in most specialised courses. This is achieved by intensifying basic experiential learning and implementing assessments related to the programme.
The graduates of this programme are awarded a Diploma in Business and are expected to work in fields related to business approved by TVTC. They will also be awarded the Pearson BTEC International Level 2 Diploma in Business and the Pearson BTEC International Level 3 Extended Diploma in Business from Pearson upon successful completion.
